Mission

We are committed to Okinawans return to health and longevity, centered on its traditional island vegetables, while creating a sustainable society where people, animals, and nature coexist in harmony.  We also bring champion athletes to teach the community about how elite athletes prep, recover, and even play to keep movement a joy not a chore.

Vision

Through food, we carry the Okinawan spirit of “Nuchi du Takara” (“Life is the greatest treasure”) into the future, building an Okinawa where next generations can be healthy, mobile, and deeply informed.

1. Longevity Island Okinawa (LIO)

We are now known in the world as a Blue Zone, with the world’s longest-living people.  In reality, however, we now face Japan’s most serious health challenges. In collaboration with the higher education, cafes, tourism industry and even primary educational, we offer (all for free) educational programs, provide consulting services, and organize events.  We accept no donations.

2. Okinawa Animals and Nature Protection (OWNP)

We work with organizations and scientists to protect Okinawa’s wildlife and natural environment, organizing workshops and beach cleanups that provide everyone with the knowledge and opportunity to make a difference.  Okinawa is recognized as a biodiversity treasure and we hope to keep this.

3. Okinawa Plant Based Community

One of U2-4Ryukyu’s founding initiatives, this project supports those in Okinawa seeking plant-based options. We create maps of plant-friendly cafes and organize food events, often with kids/sport in mind.

Japan’s Most Up-to-Date & Comprehensive! Explore plant-based-friendly restaurants and spots across Okinawa. Updated regularly by local vegans living in Okinawa!

We take no donations.  But we sell a few select items (now original t-shirts) to spread the message. 100% of the proceeds go directly to organizations dedicated to protecting animals and nature.
